D.A. To Seek Manslaughter Charges Against Nick Gordon In Bobbi Kristina’s Death

According to TMZ, authorities are now working to pin involuntary manslaughter onto Bobbi Kristina’s long-time boyfriend Nick Gordon following her death, law enforcement reports.  The details of the charge include Gordon’s alleged arrangement to obtain the drugs for Bobbi Kristina the day she was found in her bathtub on January 31. Prosecutors have reason to believe that Gordon was aware of Bobbi Kristina’s drug problem, TMZwas told, and of her falling unconscious on other occasions after overusing. However, Bobbi’s injury-free autopsy report does not give the prosecutors’ claims much hope, as medical examiners also concluded that no preexisting medical condition was found that may have contributed to the 22-year-old’s death.  Gordon did admit that he and Bobbi did drugs that morning however, and authorities now have their eyes set on the person present in the home that day: Max Lomas. The current defendant is being charged with two drug-related felonies in Georgia that are separate from the Bobbi Kristina case, but authorities feel he is a significant component for the prosecution. Even if Lomas is reluctant to talk, a source tells TMZ that he’s been offered immunity in Bobbi’s case and a mere probation on the drug charges if he opens up about what really happened that day Bobbi Kristina was found.  A member of Bobbi Kristina’s camp, her best friend Bess Beckman, has already come forth about the alleged violent history in Bobbi and Gordon’s relationship. Beckman is working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to further investigate the claims. She told authorities that Gordon beat Bobbi several times after she revealed that she had plans to launch her career in L.A. She also added that he had beaten her only several days before Bobbi was discovered unconscious in the bathtub.  Additional details on Gordon’s defense and the prosecution will become available upon release.

Fetty Wap Just Matched Eminem In A Huge Milestone

According to MTV, Fetty Wap is having a great year and this week just made it all the more historic. That’s because the MC/singer had two songs in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week with #7 “My Way” and #6 “Trap Queen.”  That makes him the first lead male rapper to have two top 10 singles at the same time, in a long time. Lil Wayne last did that in September 2011 with “She Will” and “How To Love. But Fetty ain’t done matching milestones. Wap’s “679” is at #18 this week. And Billboard reports that the accomplishment makes him the first rapper with three songs in the Top 20 since Slim Shady who did the same, in November 2013 with “The Monster,” “Rap God” and “Berzerk.”  OMI’s “Cheerleader” was at #1, with The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” at #2 and Silento’s “Watch Me” rounding out the Top 3.

Janet Jackson Postpones “Unbreakable” Tour To Be By Her Father’s Side

According to Vibe, fans may have to wait a tad bit longer to see Janet Jackson perform in concert, but for good reason.  The pop icon has postponed production on her highly-anticipated “Unbreakable” tour to be by Joe Jackson’s side as he recovers from a stroke he suffered on his 87th birthday. Reports indicate the “No Sleep” singer flew by private jet to be with her father and doesn’t plan to resume rehearsals for the tour until his health improves.  Jackson, who just released the visuals for her new single, planned to kick off her tour August 31st in Vancouver.

Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige to star in NBC's The Wiz

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has signed two big stars for The Wiz: Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige have joined the network’s latest live musical adaptation. EW has exclusively learned Latifah will play the titular Wiz, who holds the keys to the Emerald City, while Blige is set to play the Wicked Witch of the West.
Latifah’s musical past includes starring in 2002’s Chicago and 2007’s Hairspray, and Blige has nine Grammy awards under her belt. They’ll star in The Wiz alongside previously announced cast member Stephanie Mills, who’s playing Auntie Em.
The Wiz Live! is executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron—who also made NBC’s previously high-wire musical telecasts, 2013’s The Sound of Music Live! and last year’s Peter Pan Live! The Wiz Live! is directed by Kenny Leon with Harvey Fierstein providing new written material and also marks the first NBC musical to made with Cirque Du Soleil, whose acrobats will be used in certain scenes (such as the tornado and flying monkeys).
In addition to Chicago, Latifah co-starred in Hairspray and the TV film Steel Magnolias — all of which were executive produced by Zadan and Meron. “We are so happy reuniting with Latifah,” said Zadan and Meron. “We’ve been friends for a long time and we’ve had quite a lot of success together. To see her play the iconic role of the Wiz and make it her own is going to be one of the joys of producing this event.”  And as the Wicked Witch of the West, Blige’s Evillene “holds sway over the Winkies and the Winged Monkeys that do her bidding. She captures Dorothy and her friends to avenge the unintentional murder of her evil sister, Evvamean, and to get back the powerful silver slippers given to Dorothy by the Good Witch of the North.”
The Grammy-winning Blige began her career on The Jamie Foxx Show and has been featured on shows like Entourage and most recently Empire and Blackish. “I can’t wait to watch Mary bring the badness that is Evillene,” said Leon. “Her talent range is off the charts and I know audiences won’t be able to take their eyes off her.”  As for the key role of Dorothy, NBC’s search continues for a newcomer to play the character.

Don Cheadle's Miles Davis Biopic to Debut at New York Film Fest

According to Ebony, Don Cheadle’s biopic on late jazz icon Miles Davis is finally set to hit the public. The 50-year-old actor and first-time movie director will breathe new life into the legendary musician in his passion project Miles Ahead, which will make its world premiere October 11, as the closing night of the New York Film Festival. The film focuses on the portion of Davis’s life when he reemerged in 1980, following his so-called “silent period” in the late ’70s. Cheadle crowdsourced more than $350,000 to help get the indie flick created. “This is the type of project that I had dreamed of,” he wrote last year. “It’s not a biopic, it’s an adventure, it’s a drama, it’s a love story; it’s about the core of human experience... A Star-Studded Lineup At The 5th Annual Long Beach Gospel Fest

The 5th Annual Long Beach Gospel Fest, held on July 19, 2015, drew a crowd of thousands to enjoy a star-studded lineup of the best gospel artists in music today, including multi-award winning performers Deitrick Haddon, Tina Campbell, Tasha Cobbs, Kierra Sheard, Jonathan Nelson, Myron Butler, Jessica Reedy, Brian Courtney Wilson, Gerald and Tammi Haddon and more.

The highly anticipated citywide worship experience, founded and hosted by Pastor Wayne Chaney, Jr. and wife Myesha of the Antioch Church of Long Beach, was nearly derailed by power outages in Long Beach preceding the event and inclement weather on the day of show. The show went on, however, and festival-goers were treated to a monumental morning worship service led by Pastor Chaney, followed by the afternoon concert. The event shifted location from Marina Green Park to City of Refuge Church when the heavens opened up in a downpour during late afternoon.

"For the past few years, the fragrance of Gospel Music has permeated the shores of Long Beach," said Pastor Chaney. "This year was no different. Even in the rain, our hearts smiled seeing so many uplifted and encouraged."

This year's festival included a special live red carpet periscope feed hosted by WEtv reality series personality and stylist to the stars, GooGoo Atkins, who also served as the event's inaugural social media host. Taking us behind-the-scenes, Atkins conducted a backstage tour and interviewed celebrity attendees during arrivals such as Dorien Wilson, Judge Kevin Ross, designer Kevan Hall, Torrie Hart, Aaron D. Spears, Terry Hunt, Gwen Smith, Alycia Cooper, Patrick Faucette, and London Brown, in addition to the show's performers.

"The Long Beach Gospel Fest is absolutely off-the-chain, crazy incredible and wonderful all at the same time. It is amazing to see this many people come out and praise God," said Grammy-winning artist and WEtv star Erica Campbell, who introduced sister Tina's performance and joined her onstage for a surprise duet of their hit song . "It lets you know that Los Angeles, Long Beach, Compton -- everybody -- loves Gospel music. [All the performers] have been amazing and it's been a blessing all day long.....the rain didn't stop our praise and I'm glad to play a part."

Haddon, one of the genre's top acts and "Preachers of LA" Executive Producer was happy to answer the call from his dear friend and fellow "Preachers" castmate, as was another star of the series, Bishop Noel Jones who opened the doors of his church when the rains forced the event to an indoor location.

"Long Beach Gospel Fest is one of the biggest festivals in LA every year and you have to be here," said Haddon. "I was honored to be asked by my friend Pastor Wayne to participate. We didn't let the rain stop us, we just shifted over (to a new location). So next year, come on out and we'll have a good time again!"

Artist Kierra Sheard agrees. "My experience at [Long Beach] Gospel Fest was amazing," she stated. "I was really excited to see the energy and support from the people. Being at gospel fest showed me, from the people behind the scenes to the audience, that there are still good, supportive, people out there who love Jesus and dream big with others."

Kelly Price & Husband-Manager Jeffrey Rolle SPLIT After 23 Years

According to The YBF, singer Kelly Price is in the market for a divorce lawyer...and a new manager.  She announced she and her husbandger, Jeffrey Rolle are splitting up after 23  years of marriage.
Kelly told AlywaysAList.com in a statement:
“After the untimely death of my sister last year, it weighed on me heavily that this was something we needed to do. I ultimately made the decision to live the best life I can. The twosome have two children together, son Jeffrey Rolle Jr., 23, and daughter, Jonia Rolle, 21.  Kelly and Jeff have been together since she was 19.  She says the split was mutual as they simply "grew apart."  Jeff has served as Kelly's manager for years.  The couple had their fair share of criticism while appearing on season 1 of "R&B Divas" as their cast mates (and viewers) called them confrontational and negative. The 41-year-old "Friend Of Mine" singer will indeed be singing about the break up, as good R&B singers always do.  She said she'll be speaking to other women on her upcoming album, “Sing, Pray, Love Vol. 2: Pray,” out 2016.

The promoter says Chris got his million dollar payment and he's been demanding a refund ever since.  Well, Chris went back to Manila for another concert this week, but when he tried to leave the government blocked the flight after the promoter convinced officials what Chris did amounted to theft.  So he's now stuck in Manila, sitting in a hotel room and Instagramming for help from Obama.
