Gladys Knight To Headline 16th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration
According to BET Centric, Gladys Knight has been announced as the headlining performer of the 16th annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, with actress Holly Robinson Peete and retired NFL star Rodney Peete serving as hosts. This year's celebration will feature special tributes to gospel music legend Andraé Crouch and revered sportscaster Stuart Scott.
Knight will be joined by entertainers such as Tichina Arnold, Natalie Grant, Anthony Hamilton, Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, David and Tamela Mann, Mali Music, Donnie McClurkin and DeWayne Woods. Athletes including Antonio Brown (Pittsburgh Steelers), DeSean Jackson (Washington Redskins), Devon Still (Cincinnati Bengals), Ray Lewis, Deion Sanders and others will also be in attendance.
"We're so excited to be bringing the Gospel Celebration to the Super Bowl for a 16th year," creator and executive producerMelanie Few-Harrison said in a statement. "And it's an honor to be able to showcase an American treasure like Gladys Knight and all of the amazing talent that will be featured on this year's show. We're grateful to be a staple of Super Bowl weekend!"
The event, sponsored by American Family Insurance, is one of only five NFL-sanctioned Super Bowl weekend events and a portion of the proceeds are donated to local and national charities.
The 16th annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will air Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 1) at 10 a.m. EST on BET and again at 2 p.m. EST on Centric.
