Kanye West Drops 'Only One,' Ode to North - Full Song & Lyrics!

[Verse 1]
As I lay me down to sleep
I hear her speak to me
Hello Omari, how you doing?
I think the storm ran out of rain, the clouds are moving
I know you’re happy, cause I can see it
So tell the voice inside your head to believe it
I talked to God about you
He said he sent you an angel
Look at all that he gave you
You asked for one and you got two
You know I never left you
Cause every road that leads to heaven is right beside you
So I can say
[Hook 1]
Hello my only one
Just like the morning sun
You keep on rising till the sky knows your name
Hello my only one
Remember who you are
No you’re not perfect but you’re not your mistakes
[Verse 2]
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Oh the good outweighs the bad even on your worst day
Remember I’d say
Hey, hey, one day
You’ll be the man you always knew you could be
And if you knew, how proud I was
You’d never shed a tear, have a fear
No you wouldn’t do that
And no I didn’t pick the day to turn a page
I know it’s not the end every time I see her face
And I hear you say
[Hook 2]
Hello my only one
Remember who you are
You got the world cause you got the love in your hands
And you’re still my chosen one
So can you understand
One day you’ll understand
So hear me out, hear me out
I won’t go, I won’t go
No goodbyes, no goodbyes
Just hello, just hello
And when you cry, I will cry
And when you smile, I will smile
And next time when I look in your eyes
We’ll have wings and we’ll fly
[Hook 1]
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about-
I just want you to do me a favor
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me
Tell Nori about me, tell Nori about me

The Best Studio Q Moments of 2014 [VIDEO]

The #1 moment of 2014 is our interview with the incredible Bishop T.D. Jakes.  This man moves millions every week in his sermons broadcasted live from the Potter House. To be able to sit down with this influential man of God and discuss his latest New York Times Best Selling book, 'Instinct' was both an honor and a privilege.  I am just so happy we got a chance to interview someone that we admire and are truly inspired by.

Our #2 moment was back in April when we had the pleasure of interviewing one of the best actresses of our generation, Kimberly Elise.  We discussed her movie Apple Mortgage Cake, which premiered on the UP channel. If you've ever seen Set it Off, John Q, Beloved or Diary of Mad Black Women then you've witnessed just a few of the amazing movies the talented Kimberly Elise has left her indelible mark in.

The #3 moment is our interview with the Oscar nominated Taraji P. Henson at the 'From the Rough' movie premiere.  We are big fans of Taraji's work and loved being able to speak to her on the red carpet.  Looking forward to seeing her in the new Lee Daniels directed series, 'Empire' premiering next week on Fox.

The #4 moment this year comes from interviewing the Prince of Sophisticated Soul, Mr. Will Downing.  We talked with him about his latest album, Euphoria.  Will Downing's music is smooth like chocolate and his personality is big and a lot of fun. We talked about everything from him recovering from the disease Polymyositis to his longevity in the music industry.  This interview was more than a conversation, it was a real good time.

Our #5 moment was being invited to cover Holly Robinson Peete's 'Gratefully 50' Party? Yeah I know we can't believe she's 50 either.  We had a ball interviewing icons like Magic Johnson and LL Cool J, who just happen to be Holly's friends.

The #6 moment belongs to our coverage of the 24th annual NAACP Theater awards. Every actor that you love probably started out in the theater, so it was a real treat to interview those nominated for one of these prestigious NAACP awards. Check out all the stars we interviewed on the red carpet.

The #7 moment is our red carpet coverage of 'From the Rough,' a movie premiere starring Taraji P. Henson. We spoke to Letoya Luckett, Henry Simmons and Omarosa. This was a great movie based on a real trailblazer. The premiere was followed by one of those Hollywood parties. Oh what a a fun night we had!

The #8 moment of 2014 is our coverage of the 45th NAACP Image Awards Nominations Luncheon on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA. It was great chatting it up with, Guillermo Diaz (Scandal), China Anne McClain (Disney's A.N.T. Farm), Niecy Nash (The Soul Man), and Lauren Lake (Paternity Court)

Our #9 moment of 2014 belongs to our coverage of Robi Reed's 12th annual Sunshine Beyond Summer Celebration. The stars that come out to support this charity event shine as bright as the sun that beams down on the red carpet. Check out our interviews with Goapele, Eva Marcille, Kym Whitley, John Amos and more.

The #10 Moment of 2014 goes to The film premiere of Don B. Welch's 'The Divorce' on February 19, 2014, at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.   This film stars Dawnn Lewis, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Tatyana Ali, Angell Conwell, Judy Pace, Freda Payne, Jonelle Allen, Rylan Williams, Tammi Mac, and Keith Burke.   We spoke to Loretta Devine (Grey's Anatomy), Richard Brooks (Being Mary Jane), Will Smith Sr., Ernest Thomas (Everybody Hates Chris), and many more on the red carpet of this event.

The #11 moment of 2014 is our one on one interview with actress Tammi Mac about her one woman show 'Bag Lady' that premiered at Stage 52 in LA this year. This show was so good that the legendary Stevie Wonder came out twice to support it.

The #12 moment of 2014 is our red carpet coverage of Tammi Mac's Bag Lady premiere. It was great watching how Tammi's show all came together.  It was a  blast interviewing all of her celebrity friends on the red carpet.

Our #13 moment is our interview with Whitney Houston's nephew, Gary Michael Houston.  We talked about everything from his mixtapes, to 3 independent EPs (CORRUPTION 1-3), to his most recent body of work “The Collins LP.” We also discussed his beloved aunt Whitney Houston and Bobbi Kristina.

Our #14 moment of 2014 is our interview with Mali Music on the red carpet of the 2014 Merge Summit.  It was so cool to be able to attend an event that celebrates both faith and entertainment. It was awesome to tell Mali Music face to face just how great his music is. This dude is a real artist and it was an honor to meet and interview him this year.

Maya Angelou Wrote Friends Into Will

Maya Angelou wrote six friends into her will, reports The New York Daily News. According to papers filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court, the late poet, who passed away earlier this year, left six of her New York friends unspecified “personal tangible property through a trust she set up before her death at 86 earlier this year.

The friends include former ESSENCE editor-in-chief Susan L. Taylor and her husband, screenwriter Khephra Burns, Valerie Simpson of Ashford and Simpson, and producer and dancer George Faison.

“We were part of her extended family,” Taylor told The Daily News, adding that her family had spent a lot of time at Angelou’s Winston-Salem home, celebrating birthdays and Thanksgivings. “I miss her every day,” she added.

Angelou’s estate is valued between $10 million and $34 million and is being administered by her son, Guy Bailey Johnson.

It’s still unclear what Angelou left her friends. And none knew she had made them beneficiaries. “We just had Thanksgiving with the family, and Guy didn’t say anything about it,” Burns said.

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali hospitalized with mild case of pneumonia

According to Fox News, Former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali was hospitalized Saturday morning with a mild case of pneumonia, a family spokesman said.
Bob Gunnell told the Associated Press that the 72-year-old was being treated by his team of doctors and is in stable condition. He did not disclose the precise hospital where the Louisville native was taken.
Gunnell said that Ali's prognosis is good because the pneumonia was caught early, but he did expect the boxer to spend a short stay in the hospital. He declined to say where Ali was being treated and declined to release other details due to the Ali family's request for privacy.
Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1984, three years after his retirement. He traveled the world on humanitarian missions, mingling with the masses and rubbing elbows with world leaders. Ali received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush in 2005.
This past September, Ali attended a ceremony in his hometown of Louisville for the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards. He did not speak. He also attended the University of Louisville's Oct. 30 football game against Florida State.
"Muhammad is doing fine at this point," Gunnell told the Louisville Courier-Journal in October. "His speaking style is lower in tone, and as the day goes on, he doesn't speak as well as he does in the morning. But Muhammad's a strong person for his age and for the disease he has."
Ali and his wife, Lonnie, have homes in Paradise Valley, Arizona; Berrien Springs, Michigan; and in Louisville.

Are Mel B & Husband Stephen Belafonte Ready To Call It QUITS?!

According to the YBF, rumors are circulating that former Spice Girl and “X Factor” judge Mel B and her husband Stephen Belafonte may be calling it quits soon. It’s reported she postponed her eye surgery procedure (she recently revealed she has been blind in one eye) as she tries to sort out a possible divorce from her film producer husband.
Sources close to Mel reveal she may really be done with her husband of 7 years. The source told the Daily Mirror,
“At the moment she is discussing divorce. She knows this isn’t the easiest option. It’s going to be tough. But she knows her marriage is over.”

Last week, fans grew concerned over Mel B’s appearance on the “X Factor”, once she appeared on the show after missing the first live show on Dec. 13th. Following a hospital stay, the 39-year-old singer returned to the show on Dec. 14th and she had bruises on her face, a bruise on her cheek and scratches on her arms. A source close to the "X Factor" show revealed Stephen didn't even come to visit her during her three-day hospital stint.
The source told The Sun,
"Mel hasn't spoken to Stephen once since her admission to hospital last week and as it stands she doesn't want to see him. He didn't come to the hospital at all. The fact that he left the country before she'd even gone back on X Factor is another sign of just how bad things have become between them."
Fans instantly accused Stephen of abusing her, but he vehemently denied it, hopping on Twitter to refute the rumors. Now...Mel B's estranged mother Andrea Brown is joining in on the abuse allegations. She first praised the fact that her son-in-law may be out of her life for good, then she sent a tweet that alludes he may be abusing her daughter. She tweeted:

(While original episodes of the show will run through March, the production crew is no longer necessary.)
It was announced about a month ago that The Queen Latifah Show had been cancelled after two seasons. Produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, the show included a roster of high-profile guests, including Bill Clinton and Nicole Kidman.
"Your dedication and sacrifice was crucial to the entire team, and in the face of intense challenges, you displayed 'True Grit'!" Latifah wrote in a message posted on her Facebook page. "Thank you for your strong work ethic and great effort in getting The Queen Latifah Show off the ground and running.
"Your Family, Partners, Staff and Crew showed up with you every step of the way. Be very proud of that! Not everyone can say the same," the message continued. "You can also say you have been a blessing to and been blessed by amazing guests and incredible audiences for this show. We truly changed people's lives for the better. So…stay positive, stay strong, and most important, stay open...There is so much more God has in store!"
Latifah ended the post with words of inspiration. "This letter is for me, my staff, my crew, and everyone who was by my side for this incredible journey," she wrote. "The most important thing in life is that you wake up every single day and take chances. No matter what the outcome…believe in yourself and continue to fly."
Although her talk show is no more, Latifah's acting career continues to soar. She's already getting much buzz for her work as legendary blues singer Bessie Smith in HBO's upcoming Bessie.

Sony Scraps Movie 'The Interview'

According to TMZ, Sony has pulled the plug on the XMAS release of "The Interview," after a number of theater chains bailed.
TMZ broke the story Thursday morning. Sony execs felt their out was if distributors yanked the film because of safety concerns. That would give Sony an out without directly bending to the hackers.
Sony just released a statement, saying, "In light of the decision by the majority of our exhibitors not to show the film The Interview, we have decided not to move forward with the planned December 25 theatrical release."
The statement goes on, saying, "We are deeply saddened at this brazen effort to suppress the distribution of a movie, and in the process do damage to our company, our employees, and the American public."
The execs are underscoring the distinction between pulling the film because of the distributors rather than out of fear, saying, "We stand by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome."

K. Michelle Gets Emotional Discussing Idris Elba

According to Essence, K. Michelle did a fantastic job of keeping a relationship with Idris Elba under wraps. But on the tail of her new album, Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart, emotions are coming out, dirty laundry is being aired and the singer is opening up about Elba, with no holds barred.
Yesterday, the former Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta star broke down in tears when asked about Elba during a radio interview on the Russ Parr Morning Show.
"My thing is I feel like I protected you [Elba] for so long," Michelle told the hosts. "There are my emotions that I deserve. I have to protect myself, and I have to deal with my emotions. I love him and always will."
Michelle repeatedly said that he was a normal man and a good guy. However, she admitted that he had emailed her saying that he understood that her songs are her art, but he's sad that it had to come to this.
"It's not a hate thing," she said shortly before breaking down in tears, forcing the hosts to cut to a commercial break. "We don't hate each other. It's the timing. It's a timing thing, you know?"
She added that the revealing lyrics aren't her attempt at telling it all, they're simply a portrayal of her life.
"We keep certain things with us. It's still private" she said. "But he knows with my music, I'm like a Black Taylor Swift. I'm going to write about you, and I'm going to talk about you. He really has no choice."

Beverly Johnson: 'Bill Cosby Drugged Me'

Beverly Johnson, best known as the first black woman to cover Vogue, has accused Bill Cosby of drugging her in the mid '80s in his New York brownstone.  In a tell-all essay for Vanity Fair, Johnson discusses the trust she put in Cosby as she attempted to get her acting career off the ground. After disclosing the very personal details of her divorce, Johnson said she felt a sense of comfort with the star and thought nothing of coming to his home one late afternoon to read for a part on "The Cosby Show."
Johnson wrote:
"Looking back, that first invite from Cosby to his home seems like part of a perfectly laid out plan, a way to make me feel secure with him at all times. It worked like a charm. Cosby suggested I come back to his house a few days later to read for the part. I agreed, and one late afternoon the following week I returned. His staff served a light dinner and Bill and I talked more about my plans for the future.
After the meal, we walked upstairs to a huge living area of his home that featured a massive bar. A huge brass espresso contraption took up half the counter. At the time, it seemed rare for someone to have such a machine in his home for personal use.
Cosby said he wanted to see how I handled various scenes, so he suggested that I pretend to be drunk. (When did a pregnant woman ever appear drunk on The Cosby Show? Probably never, but I went with it.)
As I readied myself to be the best drunk I could be, he offered me a cappuccino from the espresso machine. I told him I didn’t drink coffee that late in the afternoon because it made getting to sleep at night more difficult. He wouldn’t let it go. He insisted that his espresso machine was the best model on the market and promised I’d never tasted a cappuccino quite like this one.
It’s nuts, I know, but it felt oddly inappropriate arguing with Bill Cosby so I took a few sips of the coffee just to appease him.
Now let me explain this: I was a top model during the 70s, a period when drugs flowed at parties and photo shoots like bottled water at a health spa. I’d had my fun and experimented with my fair share of mood enhancers. I knew by the second sip of the drink Cosby had given me that I’d been drugged—and drugged good."
Johnson said her head became woozy and her speech became slurred as the room began to spin. She then walked over to Cosby at his insistence and he put his hands around her waist. She continued:
"As I felt my body go completely limp, my brain switched into automatic-survival mode. That meant making sure Cosby understood that I knew exactly what was happening at that very moment.

'You are a motherfucker aren’t you?'

That’s the exact question I yelled at him as he stood there holding me, expecting me to bend to his will. I rapidly called him several more “motherfuckers.” By the fifth, I could tell that I was really pissing him off. At one point he dropped his hands from my waist and just stood there looking at me like I’d lost my mind.

What happened next is somewhat cloudy for me because the drug was in fuller play by that time. I recall his seething anger at my tirade and then him grabbing me by my left arm hard and yanking all 110 pounds of me down a bunch of stairs as my high heels clicked and clacked on every step. I feared my neck was going to break with the force he was using to pull me down those stairs. It was still late afternoon and the sun hadn’t completely gone down yet. When we reached the front door, he pulled me outside of the brownstone and then, with his hand still tightly clenched around my arm, stood in the middle of the street waving down taxis.

When one stopped, Cosby opened the door, shoved me into it and slammed the door behind me without ever saying a word. I somehow managed to tell the driver my address and before blacking out, I looked at the cabbie and asked, as if he knew: “Did I really just call Bill Cosby ‘a motherfucker’?"
Johnson's account goes on to describe the next morning and the days that followed when she tried to reach out to Cosby to discuss the incident. She was met with no answers.
Johnson is just one of nearly two dozen women who have stepped forward to accuse Cosby of drugging, sexually assaulting or raping them. She joins model/TV personality Janice Dickinson on the short list of famous women who have revealed their startling claims to the world.  Cosby has yet to speak on these most recent allegations from Johnson.

Stacy Francis and Brave Added to Cast of R&B Divas LA

TheJasmineBrand, reports that the former X-Factor finalist and the former member of the R&B quartet RichGirl have joined the hit reality series, just as news of Claudette Ortiz being ousted from the show has been confirmed.
Francis, who started her career as a member of the 90s New Jack Swing group Ex-Girlfriend and later landed a lead role in the Broadway production of Footloose, most recently grabbed headlines for getting into an altercation with the late Whitney Houston just a day before Houston's death in 2012.
Brave, born Christina Williams, was a member of the short lived girl group put together by producer Rich Harrison. Williams alongside former members Audra SimmonsKristal Lyndriette SmithAmber "Seven" Streeter (who has gone one to lead a very successful solo career), failed to make a major splash, and only released two moderately successful hits "He Ain't wit Me Now (Tho)" and "Swagger Right" featuring Rick Ross and Fabolous. The group officially disbanded in 2011.

The two ladies have began filming and their personalities are already welcomed additions to the show's line-up. Brave has been characterized as more quiet and reserved, while Francis is allegedly out-spoken and very opinionated.

Earl Hayes and Stephanie Moseley Murder Suicide 'He Accused Her Of Affair With Trey Songz'

According to TMZ, Earl Hayes, the man who cops say shot his famous wife to death Monday and then killed himself, was haunted by her infidelity in particular what he said was a fling she had with singer Trey Songz.  As TMZ reported, Stephanie Moseley, the star of VH1's "Hit the Floor," was gunned down in their L.A. apartment as neighbors heard her screaming. Shots rang out, the SWAT team came, busted through the door and discovered the 2 bodies.  Sources connected with Hayes tell us around 2 years ago he separated from Stephanie because of what he says was her affair with Songz. They got back together but, as one friend put it, "He was crushed and never got over it." We're told he frequently brought up Songz.  Hayes accused Moseley of having multiple affairs with various other entertainers. She was a backup dancer who worked with numerous famous singers, including Chris Brown and Usher, but we're told Hayes never mentioned them as a source of conflict.  Hayes and Moseley married in 2008 and his friends say he loved her and tried rationalizing staying together.  TMZ broke the story Floyd Mayweather was on FaceTime with Hayes when he flew into a rage over Moseley's alleged infidelity and the boxer was witness to the murder/suicide.  We reached out to Songz and got no word back, but Monday night he tweeted this.

Debbie Allen On Bill Cosby Rape Allegations: 'It's Just Hard To Believe'

According to BET Centric, Debbie Allen has added her name to the small list of celebrities who are publicly defending Bill Cosby.  The comedian is in the midst of a firestorm after more than a dozen women have come forward claiming he either drugged, sexually assaulted or raped them. On a recent appearance on the “Today Show” to promote her BET holiday musical “The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker,” Allen said the allegations were hard to believe.  “I don’t think we can have this conversation honestly in two minutes. It begs to ask a bigger question. Where’s the moral spine in America and in the world today? Because how are we raising our daughters, our sons? Where are we looking for the guidance of how we’re supposed to live," the Golden Globe winner asked before adding, “Cosby gave us one of the greatest shows in history, and redefined the perception of black people all over the world.”  Allen starred on “A Different World,” which was a spin-off of “The Cosby Show.” Her sister, Phylicia Rashad, played the indelible character Clair Huxtable. Allen has over a 20-year rapport with Cosby.  "At the same time, I'm a part of One Billion Rising," she continued. "This is a movement for women to stand up against violence and denigration of women. This is a tough situation, and it's just hard to believe. I don’t know. I think that so much time has passed before they all have kind of have come together…there’s a big question that my mother ask me every day, ‘Why now? Why are these people trying to destroy his legacy?’”  The Navy recently stripped Cosby of his honorary title and he resigned from Temple University’s board of trustees following the rape allegations.
Sidebar: How do you preserve the legacy of an alleged serial rapist? I know it's hard to believe, but I believe the women, However, I also love the Cosby show. I think we can love Cliff Huxtable and not Bill respectively.
