Halle Berry Takes Gabriel Aubry to Court Claiming He's Trying to Make Daughter White

According to TMZ, Halle Berry just took Gabriel Aubry to court claiming he's trying to make their 6-year-old daughter white.  Halle was furious Gabriel was straightening Nahla naturally-curly hair, lightening it with hightlights and she is convinced it's because he does not want the girl to appear to be African American.

Halle didn't show in court Monday morning, but her lawyer Steve Kolodny did, along with Gabriel and after a lot of arguing the judge ruled NEITHER Halle nor Gabriel could change Nahla's look from its natural state.  So the judge is allowing Nahla's hair to grow back naturally.

Black ‘Annie’ Spoof On ‘SNL’ Stirs Its Own Hard Knocks

According to Deadline, the above clip is stirring more than a little angst among commenters on SNL’s site on YouTube, some of whom are saying it’s racist.   The riff on the upcoming Annie remake with Daddy Warbucks as Jamie Foxx, here including a pretty funny, carrot-topped Leslie Jones as a not-so-Little Orphan Annie. Wrote ‘Shadownumber206′: “Wow, this season of SNL has the most black people it’s ever had, yet it has managed to be the most racist season ever.”

Waka Flocka Flame Appears in a Commercial for Pine Brothers Cough Drops

According to Billboard, Waka Flocka is trying new things, like making commercials for cough drops. Selling pain relief for sore throats might initially seem like a strange fit for Waka Flocka -- and at times, he struggles to maintain a straight face during the commercial. But it all makes sense when you consider that the rapper's raw, high-energy performance style must take its toll on his vocal chords. "Nothing soothes your throat like soft, delicious Pine Brothers," he insists. It's half-statement, half-command. When I saw this commercial during the American Music Awards last night I thought it was fake. It looks like a spoof, but nope it's real. Check it out below.

Beyonce's New 'Platinum Edition' Album Is Streaming on Spotify Now!

According to Billboard, less than 24 hours after Taylor Swift took a very public swipe at Spotify at the 2014 AMAs, the only pop artist who can hold a candle to Swift in 2014 just released her brand new album to Spotify on the same day of its official release.  Beyonce's new release, Beyonce: Platinum Edition, is an expanded verion of last year's surprise self-titled album (which, you know, was an instant classic). The new edition features an extra More disc boasting six new songs, two of which are brand new -- "7/11" and "Ring Off" -- while the rest are remixes.  One of the remixes is the infamous "***Flawless" Nicki Minaj remix featuring Bey's "of course sometimes shit goes down when there's a billion dollars on an elevator" line. There's also a Mr. Vegas remix of "Standing on the Sun," which marks the first time that song has seen release on an official Beyonce album.   Incidentally, all 17 videos from Bey's fifth album are on Vevo and YouTube now. So if you haven't seen them (17 times apiece) yet, watch them here.  Unlike albums that aren't on Spotify, you can listen to this bad boy right now

Aretha Franklin Threatens To Sue Over “Trashy,” Unauthorized Biography

According to the New York Post’s Page SixAretha Franklin is reportedly threatening to sue famed biographer David Ritz for his tell-all book, “Respect” published by Little, Brown and Company.  Franklin is beyond peeved about the reportedly controversial book, which was 25 years in the making, stating that the author is making false claims about her, one of them being that she was promiscuous in her younger days.
Ritz has authored more than 50 books using either his own name or as a ghost writer. His subjects range from such legends as Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and Etta James, to Smokey Robinson and Willie Nelson.  Franklin has always been an extremely guarded individual about her private life.  Besides discussing in the book the early separation of her parents, the challenge of becoming a teenage mother, a string of controlling relationships and multiple bouts with alcoholism, depression and insecurity, Ritz reportedly interviewed a chorus of friends, family, associates and peers about the 72-year-old singer.  He contends that during the 1950s, as Franklin and her father toured the gospel circuit, it was referred to as the “Sex Circus,” a sexual free-for-all that involved not only same-sex but hetero couplings as well.
Songstress Etta James, who also toured with Franklin as a youth, reportedly co-signed on Ritz’s allegations in the book about Franklin’s sex drive, stating, “I can understand Aretha not wanting to talk about that . . . Who wants to admit that you’re praising the Lord at the 8 p.m. service and servicing some drop-dead gorgeous hunk of a singer an hour later? Aretha and I started out before we were teenagers . . . we wanted to experience it all. I wouldn’t use the expression sexually active, I’d say sexually overactive.”
Ritz reportedly sees his book as a tribute to  Franklin’s dynamic career in a business that can be spiritually, emotionally and physically brutal.  Franklin, however, refers to the book as pure muck, telling the Detroit News, “There’s a very trashy, trashy book on the street . . . It’s lies, lies, lies and then more lies.” Franklin adds, “I’m talking to a criminal attorney. If this isn’t defamation, I don’t know what would be.”

Adrian Peterson Says 'I'll Never Use a Switch Again'

According to TMZ, Adrian Peterson is finally speaking out and saying he's a changed man and vows to never hit any of his children with a switch again.

The NFL star just gave an interview with USA Today, essentially saying he now understands why people are upset at the way he disciplined his 4-year-old son and that he feels terrible about it.

"There's different situations where a child needs to be disciplined as far as timeout, taking their toys away, making them take a nap. There's so many different ways to discipline your kids."
He added, "No one knows how I felt when I turned my child around after spanking him and seeing what I had left on his leg. No one knows that dad sat there and apologized to him, hugged him and told him that I didn't mean to do this to you and how sorry I was."
"I love my son. I love my kids, my family. Like I said after I took the misdemeanor plea, I take full responsibility for my actions. I regret the situation. I love my son more than any one of you could even imagine."  The timing of the interview is very curious considering NFL commish Roger Goodell just ripped Peterson in a letter for having shown "no meaningful remorse" since the incident.

In a letter, which Goodell made public, the NFL commish explained why he banned AP for the rest of the season without pay.  "You have shown no meaningful remorse for your conduct.  When indicted, you acknowledged what you did, but said that you would not ‘eliminate whooping my kids’ and defended your conduct in numerous published text messages to the child’s mother."

Goodell continued, "You also said that you felt ‘very confident with my actions because I know my intent.’ These comments raise the serious concern that you do not fully appreciate the seriousness of your conduct, or even worse, that you may feel free to engage in similar conduct in the future.”

Vegas Casino Pulls the Plug on Bill Cosby Concert

According to TMZ, Bill Cosby's comedy tour is starting to crumble.  Vegas and another venue just cancelled concerts.  Cosby was slated to perform at Treasure Island in Las Vegas a week from today and at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, Arizona February 15, but those shows have now been 86'd.

A rep for Treasure Island released a statement calling the decision "mutual." The casino will offer refunds. TMZ spoke with the casino just two days ago and there were no plans to cancel.

Cosby performed Thursday night in the Bahamas at a benefit for an African American women's service organization.  None of the other venues for his concert series have pulled the plug ... yet.

TV Land Pulls 'The Cosby SHow' from Line Up

According to Jezebel, TV Land won't be airing any more episodes of The Cosby Show following a recent resurgence in discussing the numerous rape allegations against Bill Cosby. Netflix and NBC have already dropped or stalled their business with him.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, TV Land isn't the only station that ran reruns of the show. Centric, also a Viacom parent company property, syndicated the family sitcom that ended in 1992 and both channels had marathons planned between Thanksgiving and Christmas.  It's unclear whether Centric will also cancel its syndication. Hulu and Amazon still have rights to The Cosby Show and haven't announced any plans to discontinue their availability.  Bill Cosby won't just affect him but also his co-stars, who have been earning syndication residuals for two decades.
