Mike Colter LANDS Leading Role As Black Super Hero "Luke Cage" In New Netflix Series
According to the YBF, actor Mike Colter just landed one of the most coveted titles in Hollywood...super hero! The 38-year-old actor, who's made a name for himself as drug lord Lemond Bishop in "The Good Wife" and David, a witch hunter in "American Horror Story: Coven", has been cast as Luke Cage, a black super hero in Marvel Comic's upcoming Netflix series. Created in 1972 by Archie Goodwin and John Romita Sr., the character paid homage to pioneering blaxploitation film characters like Shaft.
The "Luke Cage" series is set to debut on Netflix in 2015 and will feature 13-episodes as part of a larger series of Marvel comic characters. According to reports, Luke Cage will be joined by Charlie Cox as Matt Murdoch in Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and an as-yet-unnamed actor who'll play Iron Fist. All four characters will star in their own series and each will feature some overlap with one another. After each series has aired, the four characters will then combine for a separate mini-series.
