Bill Cosby Resigns from Temple University Board of Trustees

According to MyFoxPhilly, a spokesperson for Temple University announced on Monday that Bill Cosby resigned from Temple University's Board of Trustees.  The comedian tendered his resignation as he continues to come under fire for sexual assault accusations.  Bill Cosby released the following statement:  "I have always been proud of my association with Temple University. I have always wanted to do what would be in the best interests of the university and its students. As a result, I have tendered my resignation from the Temple University Board of Trustees."

Temple University accepted Bill Cosby's resignation from the board and thanked him for his service to the university.  Cosby, who was born and raised in Philadelphia, is Temple's most famous alum. Cosby often speaks at Temple University's commencement.
The news that Cosby is leaving is being met with mixed reaction on Temple's campus. Some students thought this is best for the university while others wanted to hear from Cosby himself about the accusations. Nearly 20 women have come forward claiming Cosby assaulted them years ago.
