Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Reportedly Separated For 2 Months
According to TMZ Nick Cannon & Mariah Carey have been separated for months and their divorce is "a done deal" after six years of marriage. Sources tell the site the celebrity pair have divorce lawyers negotiating a property settlement and custody agreement for their 2 children,MoroccanandMonroe. The couple reportedly have been living apart in New York City since May and only come in contact when dealing with the kids. As the story goes, the trouble began back in March when Cannon did an interview with Power 106'sBig Boyin which he participated in a game of naming five celebrities he slept with. From there, it seems the marriage continued to fall to pieces.
"Our sources say ... Nick's appearance on Big Boy's radio show in March was the beginning of the end. Nick played Big Boy's game -- name the 5 celebs you've slept with. Nick named 5, but our sources say the one that made Mariah insane was Kim Kardashian. We're told Mariah tore into Nick for weeks ... feeling humiliated and the relationship never recovered.
We're told it went from bad to worse when Nick went on Howard Stern and talked about Mariah not giving it up before they got hitched. She went nuclear.
Our sources say Mariah feels Nick has abandoned her by taking every gig that's on the table ... when they don't need the money. She's especially angry because it keeps him away from their kids.
For Nick's part ... we're told he feels Mariah has become impossible because she surrounds herself with "yes men." He says she can't handle it when he dares to disagree with her.
We're also told Nick is incredulous Mariah is bitching about his work ethic ... he says he's generated $75 million since 2011 for the family."
Rumors of a divorce between the couple have been swirling for months, prompting Cannon to address the matter in an interview with Parade.
"You kind of have to ignore it because every week it’s something different, and if you paid attention to it, it actually probably would start really affecting you…There’s no merit or truth to it," he told the magazine in May. "It’s kind of humorous, really. It couldn’t be further off from the truth, and it really affects the credibility of the so-called newspapers."
Earlier this week, Carey announced her world tour, "The Elusive Chanteuse Show," which she's slated to play 12 dates. With the singer out on the road, Cannon booked solid with multiple gigs and the kids at home, there's no telling how things will play out. Carey and Cannon have yet to speak on the reports.
