Tupac Inspired Musical 'Holla If Ya Hear Me' to Close
According to Essence, the Broadway musical modeled around the lyrics and poetry of the late Tupac Shakur is set to close its doors just two months after opening. Holla if ya Hear Me began previews at the Palace Theater on June 2 and officially opened June 19. Some theater industry insiders projected this fate due to the alarmingly low attendance turnout during previews. The play has grossed $942,493 in total, while most Broadway shows rake in an estimated $1 million weekly. The final performance of Holla if ya Hear Me will be July 20.
