'Resurrection' Premiere Revives ABC Sunday

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Resurrection opened in very good shape on ABC. The midseason drama, taking the 9 p.m. hour, averaged a 3.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 13.3 million viewers. That score, a Sunday best for ABC this season, also topped any other broadcast competition for the night -- which saw overall adults 18-49 usage drop 14 percent from last week with the start of daylight saving time.  The heavily marketed show also served as a lead-in for the new Revenge time slot. In its move, Revenge (1.9 adults) was improved six-tenths of a point from its last outing. Once Upon a Time (2.3 adults) also returned to the night after a long hiatus, up four-tenths of a point. ABC took a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 7.9 million viewers for the night.

Sidebar: I opted to watch 'Resurrection' last night over The new Housewives show last night. and boy was I happy I did.  This show rocks. The concept is amazing to imagine but I just loved it. Omar Epps was great and the fact that he's starring in it makes me happy. Another black man in a great role is always good. But just imagine someone that you love passed away and years later returns to you. That's enough to come back next week and see how this is all works. Good stuff ABC. I watched Housewives later on and I was happy I waited.
