Da Brat On $6.4M Judgment: 'I can't afford it'

In a face-time interview with Harvey Levine of TMZ, 39-year-old rapper, Da Brat spoke about the $6.4 million judgment for assaulting former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens."I knew that I shouldn't have [done] what I did, and I knew she was entitled to something, but $6.4 million---Hell no!" she said when asked if she thought the decision was fair. "Her doctor bills came to about $60,000."
Brat, born Shawntae Harris, was ordered by an Atlanta jury to pay $3.7 million in compensatory damages and an additional $2.7 million in punitive damages.  So can she afford to pay the award? She says, "Hell no!" "Whatever money that I get, I guess she's entitled to some of it, [but] I owe a lot of people, [so] she [will have] to stand in line. In 2007, Brat and Stevens reportedly were involved in an argument inside the Atlanta-area nightclub Studio 72. When Stevens, who was working as a waitress, turned around to get her manager, the rapper smashed her in the face with a rum bottle.  But that's not how Da Brat remembers it... "I didn't just go up to somebody and do this. A lot things happened before. There were a lot of people who witnessed it," she said. "She's an aspiring actress, [and for her performance in court] she needs to be at the Golden Globe [Awards], because she deserves an award."  Brat plead guilty to aggravated assault, and went on to serve three years in prison. She's currently still on probation.
