‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ To Air In China

According to Variety, Warner Bros. has cut a deal with Sohu Video to make “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” available on the online video platform. Episodes will be subtitled in Chinese and available  48 hours after they air in the U.S.Warner Bros. said the deal makes DeGeneres’ yakker the first U.S. daily talkshow to be distribbed in China. Deal was unveiled Tuesday by Warner Bros. Intl. TV chief Jeffrey Schlesinger.  “Sohu offers Chinese Internet users a diversified portfolio of top-quality content, with a wide coverage of hot TV dramas, animation and now U.S. talk shows,” said Sohu chairman-CEO Charles Zhang. “‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ is one of the most well-known talk shows in the U.S., and we believe it could also have strong appeal and relevance with the Chinese audience.”  DeGeneres will be on the world stage March 2 when she hosts the Academy Awards.
